The next few days will allow us to feel the first gusts of autumn. Low pressures from Western Europe will once again hit Poland, bringing with them heavy rainfall. Although the weather will calm down this weekend, we should not count on the return of sunny skies.
– Poland fell under the influence of the Dagmar low pressure from Germany – Arleta Unton-PyzioÅ‚ek told tvnmeteo.pl forecaster. The western regions of our country are covered by a warm front, which, together with the cold front behind it, is expected to enter the interior of the country, bringing rain. Thus, the remnants of cold, Arctic air on the eastern edge of Poland will be displaced by warmer air masses from the south. For several days we will remain within the range of low pressures moving from Germany and Italy towards eastern Europe and the Balkans. The associated fronts and rain waves are expected to bring heavy downpours over southern Europe, especially in the Alps and the Balkans. The lows will once again be fed by warm Mediterranean waters.
Poland will also be on the trail of rainy zones. The one that will move over the country from south to north on Wednesday and Thursday will be followed by others. On Friday, heavy rainfall will cover the southern regions of the country, and on Saturday also the eastern ones. In total, from Wednesday to Saturday, rainfall in Poland may reach up to 30-50 liters per square meter in some places, and up to 80 l/sq m in the mountains. Only the high pressure developing over the Baltic Sea and northern Russia on Saturday will begin to push the rains eastward. After several days of wet weather, the first autumn stratus clouds will cover the sky on Sunday.
Weather for Wednesday
IN Wednesday the sky will be cloudy, a from the southwest, a rainfall zone of up to 5-15 l/sq m will move into the interior of the country. It does not occur only on the north-eastern and eastern edges. Thermometers will show from 11-12 degrees Celsius in the western and northern regions, through 13 degrees C in central Poland, to 16 degrees C in the south-east. Weak and moderate winds will be eastern and north-eastern, southerly only in the eastern part of the country.
Weather for Thursday and Friday
Thursday will be under a cloudy sky with some clearing. In the north there will be rainfall up to 10 l/sq m, and in other regions – up to 1-5 l/sq m. On the night from Thursday to Friday, heavy rainfall is expected to cover the Carpathians. The maximum temperature will range from 10 degrees C in the SuwaÅ‚ki region, through 12 degrees C in the center, to 14 degrees C in Podkarpacie. The wind will be weak and moderate, north-westerly, otherwise south-westerly.
Friday will bring to residents southern Poland, heavy cloud cover and rainfall up to 20-40 l/sq m, especially heavy in the mountains. It is weaker, up to 5 l/sq m, in the center and west. Thermometers will indicate from 10-11 degrees C in the east, through 12 degrees C in the central regions, to 15 degrees C in Western Pomerania. The north-east wind will be moderate and quite strong.
Weather for the weekend
IN Saturday cloudy weather with rainfall of up to 10-20 l/sq m is forecast in the south and east of Poland. There is less rain in the center, while clear spells and no rainfall are expected in other parts. The temperature will range from a maximum of 12 degrees C in Silesia, through 13 degrees C in central Poland, to 14 degrees C in Pomerania. A light to moderate wind will blow from the north-east.
Sunday will be cloudy and foggy in places throughout the country. Only in the north-east there will be periods of rainfall up to 5 l/sq m. The thermometers will show from 12 degrees C in the Suwałki region, through 14 degrees C in the center of the country, to 16 degrees C in Western Pomerania and the Lubusz region. Winds blowing from variable directions will be weak.
