Everyone now wants to cooperate with Poland again. It is very good that Poland returns to the center of gravity of the European Union, to those circles that decide about the future of the community – said MEP Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz, former prime minister, in “Fakty po Faktach”.
We have received the first application for the payment of money from the Polish National Reconstruction Plan, said the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on Friday. Donald Tusk, the head of the new government announced that by the end of this year, Poland will receive an advance payment of nearly PLN 22 billion from the RePowerEu program, intended for abandoning Russian fossil fuels and investing in green technologies. Poland also submitted a request for the payment of another PLN 30 billion.
Cimoszewicz: this is obviously a success for the country
The matter was commented on in “Fakty po Faktach” by MEP Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz, former prime minister. – Of course, it is a success for the country if five billion euros flows to us. Let us remember, of course, that this is money allocated for this specific purpose under the so-called RePower Europe program. It’s about modernizing the energy sector and putting emphasis on the expansion of renewable energy sources, he said.
– This is very good because we will be able to accelerate the process of investing in these new energy sources and we will gradually move away from coal not only because it pollutes the climate but also because it poisons people, so it is a success – he added.
Cimoszewicz: everyone now wants to cooperate with Poland again
As he said, “the atmosphere of Tusk’s talks, both with the head of the Commission (European Ursula von der Leyen – ed.) and other heads of government, was extremely friendly,” he said.
– Everyone now wants to cooperate with Poland again. When Tusk talks about the need to restore the position of leader or one of the leaders of the European Union, he answers it immediately (Chancellor German Olaf – ed.) Scholz, yes. Of course, it is very good that Poland returns to the center of gravity of the European Union, to those circles that decide about the future of the community, he said.
He said that “it is very good that everyone knows Tusk well from the times when he presided over the European Council, that everyone knows the new and old minister of foreign affairs and some other members of the government. It all works to the advantage of our country.”
