The former Polish representative currently plays in the second league. Perpetual is one of the main candidates for promotion. It is no secret that the club's owner – Wojciech Kwiecień – pays amounts that do not normally occur at this level. All this to ensure that the club is among the best in Poland as soon as possible.
For Góralski, money is important. “I'm not a hypocrite”
In recent years, fans from Krakow could watch players such as Sławomir Peszko – who is currently Wieczysta's coach – Michał Pazdan, Rafał Pietrzak, Simeon Słaczew, Michał Mak, Łukasz Burliga, Thibault Moulin, Radosław Majewski and Jacek Góralski. These are players whose names fit better into the top league than the third or second league league.
However, the move to Wieczyczna Góralski caused some controversy. Compared to other players, he was not at the end of his career – he had played in the national team only a year earlier. Some people accused him of being only interested in money.
Góralski doesn't really deny it. In a conversation with Onet Sports Review he admitted that he wanted to earn as much as possible. – Recently I told the president, Wojciech Kwiecień, that I was getting more and more stressed because I only had twenty-one salaries left at Wieczysta. It was supposed to be a joke, but actually… it's true. I'm not a hypocrite, I don't hide the fact that I play football mainly for money. This is my profession and by doing it I want to earn as much as possible, he said.
– I don't understand players who had better financial offers and turned them down. I respect that, but I have a different approach. Taras Romanczuk could have left Jagiellonia several times, for example to Turkey, but he preferred to stay in Białystok. Okay, now he won the championship and played in the cups, but that's all. I am different, I have my own motivations. If I can earn more, I'll go for it, he added.
Góralski is a key player for Wieczyńska. In the second league he missed only one game – he was then suspended for yellow cards. This weekend, the club from Krakow will play against Rekord Bielsko-Biała. Game will take place on Sunday, November 10 at 11:00. Wieczysta is currently in 3rd place in the table. Grodzisk Mazowiecki is two points behind the leader Pogoń.
