Police officers from Radom investigated the procedure and brought charges against three men who took part in bailiff auctions, but their goal was not to make a purchase, but to enrich themselves at the expense of other participants of the tender. The detainees come from Masovia, but they operated in several voivodeships.
Spokesperson of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Radom, deputy inspector. Katarzyna Kucharska reported that the perpetrators operated in the following voivodeships: Masovian, Łódź, Świętokrzyskie and Lublin. The suspects are residents of the Radom and Sochaczew counties (Masovian Voivodeship), aged 40, 41 and 59.
Their arrest was possible thanks to the cooperation of police officers from the anti-corruption department and the District Prosecutor's Office in Radom, which supervises the proceedings.
They deliberately made real estate auctions difficult
The officers found that there are three people in the Masovian Voivodeship who intentionally obstruct bailiff auctions, most often of real estate.
– Having no intention of purchasing the auction item, they joined the auctions and demanded money from other bidders in exchange for withdrawing from the bidding and artificially increasing the starting price – said the police spokeswoman.
According to investigators, some of the auction participants, unaware that the perpetrators only wanted to obtain financial benefits, transferred the money requested before the auction in order to purchase the plot or apartment put up for sale.
– The men involved in this criminal activity achieved several dozen thousand zlotys of financial benefits – said the policewoman.

The police knocked on their apartments
On Tuesday, the uniformed officers entered their apartments in the Radom and Sochaczew counties and then took them to the District Prosecutor's Office in Radom. There, those detained were charged with obstructing a tender, which carries a penalty of up to three years in prison.
The prosecutor applied preventive measures against the suspects in the form of police supervision, property bail and a ban on leaving the country.
According to the police, the case is an ongoing one and after collecting further evidence, further charges will be brought against the suspects.
