Two men – one at the age of 39, the other 64 -year -old – were detained for impersonating police officers. False officers had minors for riding an electric scooter on the main square of Wadowice.
A spokeswoman for the Wadowice police aspirant Agnieszka Ptek said that men detained a few days ago threatened to a year in prison. – Men's behavior aroused anxiety of two women who witnessed. They called the emergency number. It quickly turned out that men were not police officers. They were detained – said the spokesman of the Wadowice headquarters.
False policemen
They both heard the charge of “appropriation of a public official's function”, for which the Penal Code provides for a penalty of up to a year in prison. “Such impersonation can be used to extort information, money, as well as lead to other prohibited acts. Each case is treated with the highest seriousness and meets the definite reaction of law enforcement agencies” – noted Agnieszka Ptek.
The policewoman appealed to, in case of any doubts as to the identity of the officer, demand from him to show his official ID and – in case of suspicion – contact the police immediately.
