They located warehouses of illegal counterfeit goods in Kobyłka and near Piaseczno. One of the detained wanted to bribe the policemen

Police officers detained four people near Piaseczno in connection with the case of counterfeit shoes and clothing. The losses are estimated at three million zlotys. Also, officers from Wołomin liquidated a warehouse with counterfeit well-known brands. As reported, the detained man tried to bribe them with 40,000 zlotys in bribes. It turned out that he was wanted to serve a prison sentence for similar offenses.

The case from Piaseczno was handled by officers from the Department for Combating Economic Crime at the Warsaw Police Headquarters. – The police have established that in the Piaseczno poviat, illegal items are stored and transhipped, and that counterfeit brand names are applied to the goods – said Sylwester Marczak, KSP spokesman.

During the search of selected warehouses and a delivery vehicle, Warsaw police officers were supported by officers from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Piaseczno. According to Marczak, they found and secured almost nine thousand items of clothing, footwear and accessories, as well as hundreds of thousands of tags, emblems and sheets with trademarks of various popular brands. In addition, the uniforms also secured a professional thermal press, used to apply counterfeit trademarks to clothing.

– A 58-year-old woman and three men aged 29, 33 and 53 were detained in the case. Two of them have already heard the accusation of placing the goods on the market and marking the goods with a counterfeit trademark, which they have made a permanent source of income – said the spokesman for KSP. They face up to five years in prison.

Initial losses due to the criminal procedure were estimated by the investigators at about three million zlotys.

Counterfeit warehouse in Kobyłka

The warehouse with counterfeit clothes and textiles was also liquidated by policemen from Wołomin. As reported by Tomasz Sitek, the press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Wołomin, it was possible thanks to the operational selection of the 41-year-old and finding out where he could store illegal goods.

– A few days ago, the officers went to Słupno, where a man suspected of this practice was supposed to be. Observing the property, officers noticed a passenger Hyundai leaving it. The policemen followed the car. His driver led them to the property in Kobyłka – described Sitek. – There, the officers inspected the living and utility rooms. In the building, they revealed products in the form of clothing, textiles, handbags, belts, wallets and socks. In one of the rooms there was a press with templates for cutting out trademarks of well-known companies – the policeman said.

The market value of the secured goods was initially estimated at PLN 100 thousand. The press officer of the Wołomin police reported that the suspect’s 42-year-old sister appeared in the building during the activities, and stated that she was helping her brother in marking fakes. – The man, at the moment of securing the counterfeit goods by the police, offered them a financial benefit in the amount of PLN 40,000 in exchange for the items remaining and the withdrawal from further official activities – said Sitek. When he was refused by the police, he tried to raise the rate to 100,000 .

– A man and a woman heard allegations from the industrial property law. The man was also charged with committing a corruption offense punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment. The suspect has already had numerous records and penalties for similar offenses in the past. At the time of his arrest, he was also a wanted person for a sentence of a total of three years and 10 months imprisonment. After the activities, he was placed in a prison. His sister was placed under police supervision, reported the police from Wołomin.

The secured goods and over PLN 57,000 in cash were deposited with the police. As Sitek reported, the investigation is still ongoing.
