During the storm, strong winds blew the roof off the house and threw it against a neighboring building in the capital of Alaska. This moment can be seen on the surveillance video. Fragments of sheet metal caused considerable damage to the property and the apartment.

As Steven Wood from Anchorage, the capital of the American state, said, last Sunday he and his family were just finishing breakfast, watching the raging wind bend the trees outside the windows. Suddenly they saw the roof of their neighbor's house flying towards them.

– At one point I saw the roof starting to fall off and all I had time to shout was “everyone run!” – he reported in an interview with local media.

The recording shows fragments of sheet metal landing in their yard. Parts of the roof hit the windows and broke the windows, scattering glass throughout the rooms. The man said that a gazebo was destroyed on the property, and the force of the wind also knocked over a barbecue on the terrace and threw it into the garden.

– It was terrifying – Wood described, adding that fortunately no one in the house was hurt.

The wind reached up to 120 km/h

Although this incident took place a week ago, city residents are still cleaning up after the storms. Among other things, a pedestrian bridge was also destroyed and it collapsed onto the highway, closing it for several hours.

According to local media, there were gusts of wind up to about 120 kilometers per hour.
