Robert Lewandowski is experiencing a second youth this season. He started the competition brilliantly. And although he has recently rested on his laurels, it seems that the slight crisis is behind him. Evidence? As many as 26 goals and three assists in 27 games. He flashed, among others, in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, where, together with FC Barcelona, he crushed Real Madrid 5-2, scoring the goal himself and sending the last pass. Jurgen Klopp spoke about Lewandowski's adventure in Borussia. “We were very lucky”

The German coached Lewandowski at Borussia Dortmund. It was during his term that the Pole was brought to the Bundesliga. And at Tuesday's meeting with journalists, he told a little more about this move and how the player developed under his wings. There is no doubt that playing for Borussia was the springboard to a great career for the 36-year-old.

– I watched him a lot, but we didn't decide to sign him earlier because I thought he wasn't ready yet. However, no one signed him, which surprised us greatly, so we later signed a contract with him – he began, quoted by the Catalan “Sport”. – We were very lucky – he added.

As he admitted Kloppplayers like the Pole are rare. – It's not easy to find such players because 80-90 percent depends on the player, you can help him improve, but only a little. Talent, character, potential… He had it all and that was decisive, Klopp emphasized.

Klopp talked about working with Lewandowski. “He only knew how to finish the action. (…) I wanted him to learn the game”

However, the beginnings of cooperation between the German and the Pole were not easy at all. – The team played in a 4-2-3-1 system, so Lewandowski did not play in his position. My colleagues advised me to put him somewhere else, but I believe that a young player must first be taught what to do on the pitch. He is a number nine, but he had to play in different positions. Why? Because I wanted him to learn the game. He only knew how to end the action, he revealed.

Lewandowski played under Klopp for four years. He scored 103 goals and 42 assists in 187 games. Then he moved to Bayern Munich, where his star shone for good. As many as 344 goals and 73 assists in 375 matches. And even though the Pole is inexorably approaching the age of 40, he still impresses on the pitch and does not intend to end his career.
