We have been waiting for a Polish national football team match for 72 days. At 8:45 PM in Glasgow, MichaĆ Probierz's team will play Scotland in the first Nations League match. For Poland, this will be their first match since the 1:1 draw with France at the unsuccessful Euro 2024.
– The Euro is already forgotten, now there are new preparations. Scotland has a very good coach. Steve Clarke knows how to build a team and you can see right away that it is organized. There, one fights for the other, we have to expect that, the same fervent support from the fans. For sure, for us it will be a very interesting match and a test of how our work looks like in comparison to other European teams. This is a moment of change for us – said Probierz at Wednesday's press conference.
On the same day, the Polish national team coach also announced the squad for the match. Probierz decided that four players would not even sit on the bench for the match against Scotland. In the case of Bartosz Mrozek, this was certain, because he had already received information that he was coming to the training camp only as a player for training.
Apart from the Lech PoznaĆ goalkeeper, Mateusz Bogusz, Mateusz Wieteska and Mateusz Kowalczyk were also not included in the squad for the match against Scotland. Now, a few dozen minutes before the match in Glasgow, we already know the composition of our team.

And there are no big surprises in it. The biggest question mark concerned the goalkeeper position and who would stand in goal in the first match after Wojciech SzczÄsny ended his career. According to media information, Probierz decided on a player from Nice, Marcin BuĆka.
The second surprise concerns the second line. Piotr ZieliĆski, who is usually placed higher, is this time to play as a playmaker in the back. And this already suggests that Probierz intends to continue with his idea for the national team, which he has been talking about in recent months. An idea based on offensive play.
That is why Kacper UrbaĆski and Sebastian SzymaĆski have been set up in front of ZieliĆski, while Robert Lewandowski and Krzysztof PiÄ tek will play in attack. The Poles will play in a formation with three central defenders, and in these positions will play Jakub Kiwior, PaweĆ Dawidowicz and Jan Bednarek. Nicola Zalewski and PrzemysĆaw Frankowski have been set up as the pendulums.
