Five Polish teams in European cups including two in the Champions League qualifying. Sounds great right? Definitely yes, and what's more, it is still possible. Great attitude of Legia Warsaw and Jagiellonia Białystok in the conference league (as well as individual triumphs of Śląska Wrocław and Wisła Kraków in the qualifying rounds, let's not receive the contribution) made the Premier League start to dream of 15th place in the UEFA ranking at the end of the season. And this would give us an additional place in the cups.
Jagiellonia played in a playoffs. From the ranking point of view, it's even good
Switzerland (16th) and Denmark (15.) stand between our league, currently 17. and the desired position. Therefore, it was at the teams from these leagues that you had to look in the context of the ranking. Alternatively, on the 14th Scotland. In this respect, the participation of Jagiellonia Białystok in the play-off at the 1/8 final of the conference league was even potentially more favorable than direct promotion, because it gave us a chance for an additional point (0.5 for winning in LK). At least 6 did not have such a chance. In the LK Lugano LK league phase.
Great first week
First play-off matches for promotion to the 1/8 final of the Champions League, Europa League The 1st league of conferences fell out so perfectly for Poland that they could not be more. Jagiellonia won with TSC Baćka Topola 3: 1, thanks to which she earned 0.5 points to the ranking. The Swiss did not play, and the only Scottish club Celtic Glasgow lost in the Champions League 1: 2 to Bayern Munich. However, the best thing for us was done by the Danes, because both Copenhagen lost at home 1: 2 from Heidenheim in the conference league and Midtjylland succumbed to their own pitch 1: 2 Real Sociedad. So the result was 0.5: 0 in the clash Poland vs everyone else. Thanks to this, we only lost less than a point to 15 Denmark.
Jagiellonia did not disappoint. But this Copenhagen could have forgiven …
Unfortunately, the rematch was not so pleasant anymore. Celtic Glasgow drew 1: 1 with Bayern Munich, which was not so bad, the Scots are in 14th place. However, a bad thing happened in the Heidenheim match with Copenhagen. The Danish team not only won with German, but won 3: 1, thanks to winning and promotion they earned 0.625 points for their league and advanced to the 1/8 final of the conference league.
Midtjylland, which bravely fought away, did not cope Real Sociedadmainly due to the author of the goal and the assist of Adam Buksa. However, it finally fell 2: 5 and said goodbye to the Europa League. Fortunately, Polish did not disappoint Jagiellonia. The Polish champions defeated Baćka Topola 3: 1 as in the first match, which gave them a win and promotion and earned another 0.625 points for the Premier League.
As a result, in the play-off we made up the point to Switzerland, which we already have at our fingertips. But to Denmark, as after the first matches of the fight for the 1/8 finals, we lose less than 1 point. From the 1/8 finals we will have two Polish teams in action (which, however, can play with each other). Switzerland and Denmark remained one in the conference league (Lugano and FC Copenhagen).
