Magdalena Fręch stormed through the tournament in Guadalajara. On her way to the final, she lost just one set, defeating dangerous rivals such as Ashlyn Kruege and Caroline Garcia along the way. In doing so, she achieved the greatest success in her career and reached the final of a WTA 500 event. At this stage of the competition, she faced Olivia Gadecki and the Pole was the favorite to triumph. This was indicated by her position in the ranking – the Pole is 43rd, and the Australian 152nd. And our compatriot fulfilled the role of the favorite perfectly.
The first set was very even. Although the ladies had opportunities to break, they did not use any of them, which resulted in a tie-break. And there, Fręch was stronger. In the second set, there were many more twists and turns and breaks. But this time too it was the Pole who tipped the scales of victory in her own favor, thanks to which she triumphed in the entire event – 7:6(5), 6:4.

Winning a WTA 500 tournament is the greatest success in Fręch's career, which is associated with great prestige, but not only that. The triumph is also associated with a considerable salary. For reaching the final in Guadalajara alone, the Pole received 87,655 dollars, which is approximately 338 thousand zlotys. As we know, she did not stop there. For winning the decisive match for the title, she almost doubled this amount.
Now, as much as 142 thousand dollars will be transferred to her account, which in Polish currency is about 547 thousand zlotys. And it turns out that this is the second largest payment that Fręch will receive in her entire career. She earned the most at the Australian Open 2024. At that time, she reached the fourth round, thanks to which 375 thousand Australian dollars (or almost 972 thousand zlotys) were transferred to her account.

The best season of Fręch's career
Overall, the 2024 season is decent for Fręch, and in fact the best in her career. It's not just about earnings, but also results. As mentioned above, at the beginning of the year she reached the fourth round of the Australian Open, which was her best result in a Grand Slam tournament. And although she performed much below expectations in subsequent events of this rank, along the way she also reached the first WTA final of her career, specifically the WTA 250 in Prague. There she lost to Magda Linette.
The final in Guadalajara was the second in her career and the first in the WTA 500 ranking. What's more, thanks to this she advanced to the highest place in the ranking of her career – 32nd.
