The US consulate in the capital of Greenland will be moved to another, much larger building. Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said that this causes anxiety among the Greenlanders. One of the Danish newspapers indicates that the change of building may be associated with the intention to conduct intelligence and influence operations in Greenland.
Key facts:

- Greenland is an autonomous territory depending on Denmark.
The American diplomatic mission in the capital of Greenland Nuuk is currently located in a small wooden house. Soon, however, it will be moved to a modern building with a total area of 3,000 square meters, which – as indicated by the Danish newspaper “Ekstra Bladet” – will be located “in the heart of the city”.
According to experts cited by the letter, the change of the premises may involve the need to conduct intelligence activities in Greenland and influence operations. It would consist, among others, in the attempts to convince the Greenlanders to support the idea of US President Donald Trump regarding the takeover of the island by United States.
