“After my conversation with… Allegro and OLX, these two platforms withdraw all offers for the sale of rodent control products, which are intended only for professionals” – announced the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Michał Kołodziejczak, on the X platform on Thursday, November 14. He assessed that there was a serious suspicion of committing a crime by all those who sold these funds Internet. “I filed a report with the prosecutor's office in this case and talked to Minister Adam Bodnar, who assured immediate action,” he added. Also on Thursday The National Prosecutor's Office notifiedthat Michał Kołodziejczak was notified of the suspicion of committing a crime consisting in “causing an event threatening the life or health of many people, i.e. an act under Article 163, paragraph 1, point 3 of the Penal Code. The crime was to consist in the sale of a rodenticide called 'by an established company' Quphos Pellets 56 GE'”. – Anyone who sells poison to people who are not trained for this purpose will not verify whether this person has appropriate training, in my opinion he has blood on his hands of dead people, these children – said Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michał Kołodziejczak, quoted by tvn24.pl. – All entities that have committed such trade will have their authorization to trade in all plant protection products revoked, will be eliminated from the market and I hope that they will be held criminally responsible for this – he added.
During Thursday's press conference, Andrzej Chodkowski, head of the State Plant Health and Seed Inspection, explained that rodenticides emit deadly phosphine when in contact with water or steam. – For this reason, they can be purchased by people who have undergone appropriate training, and the substances should be used using personal protective equipment – he said.
Three children are dead. Notification to the prosecutor's office after a tragic series of poisonings
November 6 Parents with their 2.5-year-old son came to the Children's Hospital in Olsztyn with symptoms of poisoning. The child died the same day. Near Grodzisk Greater Poland a three-year-old girl died (in her house, firefighters found an anti-rodent preparation that released phosphine). In turn, a two-year-old boy died near Tomaszów Lubelski (rodent repellent was used in the basement of the house). Investigators are determining whether the rodent control agent was the cause of the tragedy.
