Serbian students organized another mass protest and blocked bridges on the Danube in Nowy Sad, where three months ago a construction disaster occurred. One of the bridges was blocked for 24 hours, until Sunday afternoon. Tens of thousands of people took part in the demonstration.
The streets of Nowy Sadu were filled with residents of the city and people downloading from other parts of the country. Crowds greeted columns of cars, motorcycles and people arriving by trains or coaches. From the morning in the city you could hear the shouts of demonstrators and whistles, which accompany all protests organized since November. In the second largest city Serbia Hundreds of police officers were located who are responsible for the safety of the demonstration and the organization of traffic on blocked streets. According to the organizers' plan, at 15 o'clock a three -hour blockade of all three bridges in the new orchard began, one of which – the Freedom Bridge – will be closed for 24 hours. Everyone was blocked by farmers who joined the student protest, and thousands of people with anti -government banners, Serbia flags, whistles and trumpets.

– It has been going too long and too many people woke up so that the protests would not bring changes – said one of the blockades. – The dismissal of the prime minister does not change anything. We want to change the system, not just its faces – added the protesting student. Of the thousands of banners, many are directed directly against the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vuczici and other representatives of the highest authorities. Among them: “Goodbye, buddy” with the caricature of the president.
Food and water distribution points were set up in several places in the city. A “tent town” was created at the WolnoÅ›ci bridge for people who will spend the night on the blockade. Its participants play at small concerts, play cards and heat up by the bonfires.

On November 1 last year, the front part of the roof collapsed, located above the main entrance to the building Railway Station in Nowy Sad in the north of Serbia. As a result of the disaster, 15 people were killed. After the tragedy in the country there is a wave of protests.
According to Reuters, prosecutors accused 13 people of the catastrophe, but protesters, opposition parties and many Serbs blame the tragedy of corruption in the government and the environment of President Aleksandar Vuczic. After a wave of mass protests, Vuczić called the government to carry out an “urgent reconstruction”. He added that he expected to replace at least half of the office.
