In the town of Tuł near Wołomin, policemen from the car crime department detained a 25-year-old suspected of stolen goods. The man was arrested after the chase at the neighbor’s house, where he hid naked in her bed.

As Edyta Adamus from the Warsaw Police Headquarters reported, according to the findings of the officers in Tuł, stolen cars, mainly Toyota cars, were to be dismantled on one of the premises. Parts of these vehicles, after removing their identification features, were then transported to another fence.

– The policemen began to observe the property. Their goal was to stop fencing in the act of dismantling a stolen vehicle. At one point, they noticed a white Toyota C-HR entering the property. When its driver got out of the car, the policemen tried to stop him – says Adamus.

“He stripped naked and hid in bed”

When he saw the policemen, the man jumped over the fence and started to run away. – At one point, he jumped over the fence of one of the neighbors’ property and ran to her house, after which he stripped naked and hid in the old lady’s bed. Behind him, the policemen ran into the woman’s house and found the man hidden under the covers, the policewoman said.

The owner of the house admitted that she knew the man who hid in her house and that he was her neighbor. – The policemen detained the 25-year-old and secured a partially disassembled C-HR, stolen the day before from the Ochota district in Warsaw. In addition, officers on the property also found parts from other, as it turned out, stolen vehicles in Warsaw, said Edyta Adamus.

On the same day, in Pomiechówek in the Nowy Dwór district, the policemen arrested another suspect in stolen goods. – This time the 49-year-old came by. On his property, policemen seized three Toyota Yaris and Hyundai i20s. As it turned out, all cars come from theft with a break-in – summed up Adamus.

The 25-year-old heard two charges of handling stolen goods, the 49-year-old – three charges. Both were placed under police supervision. Receipt of stolen goods is punishable by up to five years imprisonment.
