Timothee Chalamet, one of the most popular actors of the young generation, posted a photo on Instagram in a top hat, scarf and crinkled velvet coat. The 25-year-old will play Willy Wonka in the prequel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, which will hit theaters in 2023.
Timothee Chalamet, who gained international popularity for his role in the film “Tamte dni, tamte noce” by Luka Guadagnino, is implementing another project. The actor will appear in the latest production of Paul King, which is, among others creator of the movie “Paddington”.
“Wonka”, as the title of the film sounds, is a prequel to Mel Stuart’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory from 1971 – the first and most famous adaptation of Roald Dahl’s book – with Gene Wilder in the lead role.
Chalamet posted a costume photo on Instagram, which was taken on the set of the latest film. It has a famous quote from the 1971 version: “The suspense is terrible. I hope it will last”. Thus, as the Hollywood Reporter writes, Chalamet paid tribute to the prototype of “Wonki”.
