The submarine Titan, whose search in the Atlantic for several days was followed by media around the world, imploded, as a result of which five people died. Former US President Barack Obama commented that “the fact that more attention is being paid to this than the 700 people who drowned is unacceptable.” He referred to the tragedy of a fishing boat with several hundred migrants that sank in the Mediterranean Sea. Obama’s words were spoken while Titan was still wanted.

This is understandable because we all want and pray for these people to be saved. However, the fact that more attention is being paid to this than the 700 people who drowned is unacceptable. Barack Obama during a conference in Athens, organized by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
