An extremely irresponsible resident of the Pułtusk district, who drove a moped with nearly 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his body, is threatened with imprisonment for up to two years. The man fell asleep at the wheel and was woken up by hitting a tree – said the press officer of the police in Pułtusk, junior midshipman Anna Kowalczyk.

Police said the incident happened last weekend.

At that time, the duty officer of the Pułtusk police station received a report about the incident that took place in Tocznabiel. – The information provided showed that the motorcyclist left the road and hit a roadside tree. Police officers from the traffic department of the Pułtusk police station found the man on the spot. A breathalyser test showed that the 61-year-old had nearly 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his body, described Kowalczyk. She added: – As it turned out, the motorcyclist fell asleep while driving and then crashed into a tree.

The man did not need medical attention. He was detained, and after sobering up, he was charged with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, for which he is liable to imprisonment for up to two years.
