Polish Olympians returned to the country on Sunday afternoon. Families and fans gathered at the Chopin airport to welcome the athletes.
The plane with Polish athletes, who participated in the Olympic Games in Tokyo, landed at Warsaw Chopin airport just before 2 pm. He was greeted with a water salute. The families of sportsmen, fans and journalists gathered at the airport.
Andrzej Włodarczyk, father of the gold medalist in the hammer throw Anita Włodarczyk, said in an interview with a TVN24 reporter that he and his wife and the whole family are satisfied with this achievement. “My wife can’t recover until today,” he added.

14 medals at the Tokyo Olympics
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo there were 211 female and male competitors, who won 14 medals, including four gold, five silver and bronze medals. The Olympic champions in the hammer throw were Anita Włodarczyk – for the third time – and Wojciech Nowicki, the mixed relay in the 4×400 meters run and Dawid Tomala in the 50 km walk. It gave the white-and-red 17th place in the medal table, and the last time they brought so many medals from the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, although they stood on the highest step of the podium six times there.
