President Joe Biden pledged Friday on the Capitol to “get it finished” as Democrats strained to rescue a scaled-back model of his $3.5 trillion government-overhaul plan and salvage a associated public works invoice after frantic negotiations. Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” Monday to name out the president for what he sees as hypocrisy.
SEN. TOM COTTON: “I might say that Joe Biden’s hypocrisy is aware of no bounds. Joe Biden voted towards debt ceiling will increase 3 times within the Bush period….that’s one thing that he conveniently omitted in the present day, or perhaps he’s simply forgotten it. Democrats have spent—or wish to spend– $7 trillion on a party-line foundation to enact their socialist agenda, they usually need us to present them the votes to borrow that cash. No. That’s not going to occur. Republicans usually are not going to present Democrats $7 billion to enact their socialist agenda. I don’t know what they’re ready on, Laura. We’ve been clear about this for months…Mitch McConnell has stated for months: You’ve got the votes; you’re making an attempt to ram via this socialist agenda on a party-line foundation, elevate the debt ceiling on a party-line foundation. Democrats for years have known as Mitch McConnell the Grim Reaper of the Senate. They shouldn’t be shocked when the Grim reaper kills these horrible concepts.”
