Tom Petty awarded honorary Ph.D from College of Florida posthumously

Almost twenty years after incomes a spot within the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and greater than 4 years after his dying, rock icon Tom Petty has been awarded an honorary Ph.D. from the College of Florida.

The college’s board of trustees unanimously voted to award Thomas Earl Petty a posthumous doctoral diploma in music throughout a Friday assembly.

Born and raised in Gainesville, Petty as soon as labored as a groundskeeper at UF as he tried to make it within the music trade, however he was by no means enrolled.
