A 19-year-old driver of a Toyota ran into a woman on a marked crosswalk. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The policemen detained the driver’s driving license, which, they reported, had been in his possession for three days.

On Friday, just before 9 p.m., the officer on duty in the Tomaszów headquarters received a report from an intervention patrol about a road accident that happened on Lwowska Street in Tomaszów Lubelski.

– During the patrol, the policemen noticed how a Toyota passenger car was hit by a pedestrian. Together with the witnesses of the incident, they immediately began providing first aid to the victim, until the arrival of the ambulance – says staff sergeant Małgorzata Pawłowska from the Lublin police in a press release. – According to the preliminary findings of the officers, the woman was crossing a marked pedestrian crossing. After a pedestrian crossed the axis of the road, a car from the second lane crashed into it. The woman got under the Toyota wheels and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The uniforms kept the 19-year-old from the Tyszowce commune his driving license, which he had held for only three days. A breathalyzer test showed that the young driver was sober at the time of the incident.
