A 38-year-old woman arrested by the police in Tomaszów Mazowiecki (Łódź Voivodeship) had two and a half per mille of alcohol in the body. The woman was carrying two three-year-old daughters and she ran – luckily harmlessly – a 13-year-old girl at a pedestrian crossing.
On Tuesday, around 7 p.m., the policemen received a report of a hit on Piłsudskiego Street in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. Traffic officers were sent to the scene, who determined that a 13-year-old woman had been hit by a Honda passenger car. Fortunately, the injured girl’s injuries were not serious and she did not require hospitalization.
The perpetrator of the accident was a 38-year-old resident of Tomaszewski County, who was driving the Honda. Unfortunately, not only did she not have a driving license – because she had lost her license earlier – but she was also completely drunk.
– The sobriety test showed that he has two and a half per mille of alcohol in his body – says senior aspirant Grzegorz Stasiak from the Tomaszów poviat headquarters.
In the drunken woman’s car were her two, three-year-old daughters.
Up to five years in prison
The children were placed in the care of their father.
– The girls’ mother was arrested and placed in police custody – says the senior asp. Stasiak.
The irresponsible 38-year-old was fined a 500-zloty fine for causing a road accident. After sober up, policemen brought her to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
– She has heard a number of charges for which she may be punished with up to 5 years imprisonment. The court will decide about her further fate – the policeman concludes.
