A tornado occurred on Sunday near the town of Koło in Greater Poland. The phenomenon, which damaged the roofs of several buildings, was captured on video.

On Sunday, the weather in many regions of the country was dynamic. In Wielkopolska, in the area of ​​Powiercie-Kolonia, near the city of Koło, a tornado appeared.

Damaged roofs

As reported by tvnmeteo.pl weather forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek, compact, isolated storm cells moved through Wielkopolska on Sunday. They had ideal conditions for the development of a tornado, which was also fueled by the temperature, which exceeded 30 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds could reach even 100 kilometers per hour for a short time.

According to information provided by the fire department to the e-kolo.pl portal, the phenomenon caused damage to the roofs of eight residential and farm buildings. The area of ​​one of them is almost 200 square meters.

The night was restless too

The violent weather did not let up in Wielkopolska on the night from Sunday to Monday. The officer on duty at the Wielkopolska State Fire Service reported that over the past 24 hours, firefighters in the region recorded a total of about 170 interventions related to violent weather phenomena, most of which were related to heavy, night-time rainfall in the south of the region. The largest number of reports came from the following counties: Kępno, Jarocin and Gostyń.
