The traffic jam on the Krakow bypass – towards Katowice – was several kilometers long on Monday morning. According to road workers, among others the effect of a collision between the Tyniec and Skawina junctions, as well as the road works planned in this place.
As the person on duty at the Road Information Point of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways informs, drivers should take into account the section between Tyniec and Skawina with a congestion on the road. – There was a collision of three vehicles on the road in the direction of Katowice. One lane is blocked – said the duty officer. And he added that one of the road lanes was blocked. There is only traffic on Monday morning in the right lane.
Over a dozen kilometers of cork
The road works on this section may make the situation more difficult. As informed by GDDKiA, on the northern road – the road leading towards Katowice – two lanes will be designated for drivers due to the replacement of expansion joints, but there is a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour.
According to the information from “Gazeta Krakowska”, – on Monday morning – around 7 o’clock, the traffic jam on the road was over 12 kilometers long.
