Republican Brian Fitzpatrick, asked by “Fakty” TVN correspondent Marcin Wrona about what was most important to him in Trump's speech, replied: – The president talked a lot about unity and common sense. These are two things that have been missing from the government for a long time.
– A matter of common sense is the dichotomy that exists between the actions of representatives and the expectations of voters. This is something that was absolutely illogical, which is why there was growing frustration among our voters. And our voters were right, because when we say that up is down and right is left, people start to get frustrated. The return of common sense is a very good thing, it is an important part of this speech, he said.
Asked if NATO is ready for Trump, said that “this is a question that needs to be asked to NATO.” – I am a great defender of NATO. I firmly believe that it is right and powerful. But NATO must try harder and spend more on defense, he emphasized.
– We should all spend more on defense. We live in a difficult world, a dangerous world. If we want to have peace, we must be strong. We must be ready and we must allocate an appropriate percentage of the budget to defense, he added.
Fitzpatrick: The mood is completely different
Brian Fitzpatrick expressed his belief that there would be many agreements across party lines.
