– I had a positive, very substantive and honest conversation with the President of the United States Donald Trump – said the leader of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelnski. Earlier, the US President praised the course of the discussion, describing it as “very good”. The message in this matter was also issued by the White House, describing the conversation as “fantastic”. He reported that Zelanski agreed to suspend weapons regarding attacks on energy facilities.

Trump-Putin conversation

Trump-Putin's conversation lasted at least an hour and a half. The White House reported that it concerned “the need for peace and stopping fire in the war” in Ukraine. The Kremlin announced that Putin and Trump agreed to stay in touch. Putin said that the condition of the truce is to suspend Ukrainian mobilization and supplying weapons of Ukraine. He was also to convince his interlocutor that Russia wants a “peaceful solution” of the conflict. The leaders were also to establish issues regarding economic cooperation between Russia and the USA.
Witkoff: I expect that in two weeks the truce will enter into force
A special US envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff said on Wednesday in an interview with Bloomberg agency that he expected that he would enter into force in Ukraine within two weeks. He added that “on Monday or Tuesday” (i.e. 24 or 25 March) in Dżudda, Saudi Arabia, there will be further negotiations on the end wars in Ukraine.
Also the National Security Advisor Mike Waltz informed that on Wednesday he had agreed by phone with Vladimir Putin Putin Juri Ruszakov that the negotiating teams of the USA and Russia would meet in the coming days in Saudi Arabia to discuss the implementation of a partial truce in Ukraine. The Associated Press agency points out that it is not clear whether representatives of Ukraine were invited to these talks or who will be part of the US and Russia delegation.
