President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday named Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes as chairman of the Intelligence Advisory Council. During the Republican's first term in the White House, he headed the House Intelligence Committee.
Devin Nunes is considered a close ally and longtime advocate Donald Trump. As Reuters recalled, while chairman of a committee in the lower house of Congress, he claimed that the FBI conspired against Trump during the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Truth Social was created in 2021 under the patronage of Donald Trump when his Twitter and Facebook accounts were blocked. Nunes will remain a director of Truth Social while also serving on the advisory board.
“Devin will draw on his experience as former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and his key role in exposing fraud.”RussiaRussia, Russia' to provide me with an independent assessment of the effectiveness and appropriateness of the intelligence community's activities USA” – emphasized the president-elect.
Trump's nominees
Devin's nomination came two weeks after Trump, who will take the oath of office on Jan. 20, named Kash Patel as FBI director. He will replace the current head of the agency, Christopher Wray.
Trump also appointed former intelligence chief in his administration, Richard Grenell, as his special envoy, Troy Edgar, an IBM executive and former official of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, as deputy head of the department, and appointed entrepreneur Bill White as U.S. ambassador to Belgium.
