A 20-year-old man had more than two per mille of alcohol in his body. In Trzciel (Lubuskie Voivodeship), driving a jeep, he first drove into a concrete fence, and then, wanting to drive away, hit a Renault car.

A dangerous situation occurred on Friday around 6 pm. – The duty officer of the Międzyrzecz unit received a report about a road collision that took place in the village of Trzciel. Police officers were immediately sent to the indicated place – informs Mateusz Maksimczyk from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Międzyrzecz.

As it turned out, the jeep driver at some point drove onto the pavement, where he hit a concrete fence, breaking two of its segments. Then, trying to drive away, he crashed into a properly driving Renault Megane, in which a family with two children was traveling. Fortunately, nothing serious happened.

– During the intervention, officers from the jeep driver smelled alcohol. A breathalyzer test showed more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. Police officers, checking the data in the police systems, also determined that he did not have the right to drive, Maksimczyk said.

The man was arrested. The 20-year-old was charged and is now facing trial. For driving while intoxicated, he is now facing a penalty of up to 2 years in prison, a ban on driving a motor vehicle and a large fine. The driver will also be responsible for causing a road collision.
