Prime Minister Morawiecki together with the Deputy Prime Minister, head of MAP Jacek Sasin on Wednesday they went to Turów to meet the mine workers.

– Unfortunately, it just happened that the court (made the decision – ed.), without looking at what the real interests of Poland are, because you provide services, provide electricity, running a businesswork for hundreds of thousands, for millions of people, 5-7 percent of the entire power system – said the head of the government.

We’re definitely not going to let this mine close. We will do everything to ensure that this deposit will function normally until 2044, the head of the government assured.

– No court will dictate to us – whether from Brussels or Warsaw – what energy security means, what it means for people who work here, security for their families, financial security. These are fundamental matters for us, stressed the Prime Minister.

He also added: – There is no need to carry out the sentence, because a court judgment that does not take into account the interests of Poles and takes into account the interests of foreigners is unlawful.

As he said, a judgment that “does not take into account the supply of electricity to nurseries, hospitals and schools is unlawful.” – If only the voters allow in October, we will not allow this mine to close. We are guardians, we are protectors of the Polish mining industry, he declared.
