Elon Musk wants to change the Twitter logo. The billionaire revealed that “we will soon say goodbye to the Twitter brand and, gradually, to all birds”, referring to the current symbol of the social platform.
In a tweet, he wrote that “the ‘X’ logo will be unveiled later today.” “Tomorrow we will make them available worldwide,” he added. The billionaire posted a video with a flashing “X” but did not reveal any further details.
Elon Musk had previously changed the name of the entire concern to X Corp. As Reuters writes, this was to reflect the ambitious goals of the controversial billionaire, who intends to create one “super app”, similar to China’s WeChat.
Logo experiments
Twitter’s website still has a tab where we can read that the blue bird logo is “the company’s most recognizable asset” and “in need of special protection”.
Despite such declarations, Elon Musk had previously experimented with the website’s logo. In April, the famous bird was replaced by the Shiba Inu dog for a moment cryptocurrencies dogecoin. This resulted in dynamic growth exchange rate by several dozen percent.
Big lawsuit
Former Twitter employees filed a class action lawsuit against the company on Tuesday. They are demanding unpaid severance payments totaling $500 million. Since taking over Twitter, Elon Musk has decided to lay off more than half of his team to reduce the cost of doing business.
