Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya and UFC president Dana White traded expletives on social media after Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega battled for the light-weight title.
De La Hoya congratulated Volkanovski on beating Ortega through unanimous choice at UFC 266 and referred to as out White for allegedly failing to pay fighters what the “Golden Boy” thinks they’re value.
“Hey @alexvolkanovski you simply received a brutal battle for @ufc and made 1/20 of what you’re value. @danawhite have some f—ing respect for your self and these fighters and pay these warriors what they deserve,” De La Hoya wrote.
White, by no means one to draw back from anybody who comes after him, fired again at De La Hoya.
“STFU U crack head. Faking that u had Covid and robbing me of watching u get KTFO by @vitorbelfort it is best to win an academy award on your hospital efficiency,” White wrote referencing De La Hoya dropping out of his Vitor Belfort combat earlier this month due to COVID.
The 2 appeared to finish the battle proper there.
White has routinely pushed again on criticism over what the fighters in his firm receives a commission. He did in order not too long ago as Aug. 30 in an interview on the “Tough Business” podcast.
“What occurs is once you construct one thing nice, and I say this on a regular basis, everytime you construct one thing nice, it is at all times surrounded by negativity. If you’re in a enterprise like us, the extent of scumbags which can be within the media, it is unexplainable. I imply it is happening proper now, you could have these scumbags on the market that know nothing concerning the enterprise, telling all of the fighters, ‘oh you are all being underpaid, you are not being paid sufficient cash’… each media member that talks about fighter pay, is a scumbag,” White stated on the time.
