The celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence is underway in Kiev. – We are the heirs of the state that existed over a thousand years ago – said Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of the country during the ceremony.
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, a parade with the participation of about 5,000 soldiers and several hundred units of equipment and weapons will pass along the main street of Kiev – Khreschatyk. Aircraft units will be presented, and the world’s largest cargo plane will fly over the city – the Antonov An-225 Mrija.
The parade will be attended by numerous foreign guests, including the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, as well as veterans of the fighting in Donbas and representatives of Ukraine’s partner countries, and – as reported by the Polish embassy in Kiev – the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade LITPOLUKRBRIG. Polish F-16s will also fly over Kiev.
The head of the presidential International Policy Bureau, Jakub Kumoch, on Monday referring to the Ukrainian holiday in the context of Poland-Ukraine relations, stressed that these countries – formerly divided by history – “today are united by everyday life and a common future.”
He recalled that the presidents of Poland and Ukraine also published a “clear manifesto” in the article published by the French daily “Le Figaro”, proving that Poland would not leave Ukraine alone on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration, and that Ukraine and Poland would act for to overcome “what happened”.
Kumoch emphasized that Poland was the first country to recognize the independence of Ukraine. He noted that the Ukrainian holiday is also very important for our country. – In our history, the independence of Ukraine has changed a lot for the better – he assessed.
On Tuesday afternoon – at the end of the visit – President Duda will visit the “BIOKON” Logistics Center, where he will take part in providing solidarity aid for Ukraine. It will include medical equipment to help in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. speech by the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
