A memorial dedicated to the children killed in the Russian invasion has been unveiled in Kharkov, northeastern Ukraine. The ceremony was attended by the first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, who published a recording and photos showing the monument. “Let it become a symbol of inevitable punishment for the terrible crimes of the occupiers,” stressed the governor of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Synehubov. In Ukraine, on Sunday, the day of remembrance of children who died as a result of Russian aggression was celebrated.

A monument dedicated to children who died in the Kharkiv region was unveiled under the patronage of the first lady Ukraine Olena Zelenska. The first lady was present at the ceremony.

“May this monument be an eternal reminder”

“A boy and a girl who fly over the explosion – this is what the monument looks like. And this is the terrible reality of Ukrainian children who die every day because of the Russian invasion,” she wrote Olena Zelenska in the Telegram messenger. As she reported, 485 children died as a result of Russian aggression in the country.

“Let this monument become an eternal reminder of the innocent victims of Russian terrorists and a symbol of the inevitable punishment for the terrible crimes of the occupiers,” stressed the governor of the Kharkiv Oblast, Oleh Synehubov.

Zelensky: Children would live if a group of bandits did not feel like leaders

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Sunday that 485 children have died as a result of Russian aggression since February 24, 2022. – Unfortunately, the real number is higher. Every time we liberate our land from the Russian occupiers, we learn the terrible truth about the occupation. About how many people, how many children are buried in the occupied territory: in the graves of this war, this aggression. And how many are still under the ruins in the burnt by Russia Ukrainian cities and villages, the president said in the recording.

“Children who would live if a group of bandits in the Kremlin, in Moscow, did not feel like leaders who allegedly have the right to determine the fate of nations,” Zelensky pointed out.

Remembrance day for children who died as a result of Russian aggression

“So far, unfortunately, we do not have complete information about the hundreds of thousands of children deported to Russia,” the Ukrainian president stressed. He reported that so far 371 children have returned to the country from deportation. The Ukrainian side has confirmed information about 19,505 deported children.

In Ukraine, Sunday was the day of remembrance of children who died as a result of Russian aggression.
