Ukraine’s Minister of Agricultural and Food Policy Mykola Solski reacted to Poland’s decision to temporarily ban the import of products from Ukraine. He said that “there have been some changes in Poland” for which the Ukrainians are “sorry”. “We’re sorry,” he said.

Mykola Solski said during Saturday’s press conference that the Ukrainian authorities understand the difficult situation that has developed on the Polish market. – We understand this fierce competition, which was a consequence of blocking Ukrainian ports. But it is obvious to the whole world and to every person in the world that it is the Ukrainian farmer who is in the most difficult situation. We ask the Polish side to take this into account – he announced.

Temporary ban on the import of goods from Ukraine. There is a list

Solski confirmed that he is to meet the Polish Minister of Agriculture, Robert Telus, next Monday. He expressed the expectation that during the meeting the issue related to the temporary ban on imports of Ukrainian products would be settled, and that an agreement on the transit of Ukrainian grain through Poland to third countries would be signed.

We hope it will be constructive. We also hope that the contract will be signed – he said.

At the same time, the minister expressed hope that “Saturday’s news related to the decision of the Polish side” would not affect the course of Monday’s talks.

On Saturday, the Polish Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda published a regulation on the matter ban on imports of products from Ukraine. The list of prohibited products includes cereals, milk, eggs and meat.
