Ukraine. Artificial intelligence helped identify over 10,000 war criminals

Ukraine’s State Border Service said on Wednesday that it had been able to identify more than 10,000 people accomplices in war crimes committed by the Russians thanks to Clearview AI facial recognition software.

On Ukraine Clearview AI chief Hoan Ton-That arrived. He met with the command of the State Border Service of Ukraine (DPSU), as reported by the service on Telegram. Further cooperation and the use of the company’s software in the daily work of the service were discussed.

“With the help of the software, our border guards were able to identify more than 10,000 people. These are people who illegally took children to the Russian Federation, Russian soldiers, collaborators, traitors, etc.” DPSU said in a statement.

The algorithm matches faces against a database of over 20 billion images found on the internet, including social networks.
