Rescuers in Dnieper are searching the rubble of a multi-storey block of flats, under which there may still be living people. On Sunday morning, they managed to save a 27-year-old woman whose scream was heard in the night. The woman was hospitalized with hypothermia. According to the mayor of the city, however, the chances of finding more survivors are minimal.

After Saturday Russian attack on the Dnieper 25 people have been confirmed dead and at least 72 injured. Rescuers are still searching through the rubble of the multi-storey block. The fate of several dozen people who stayed in the collapsed riser with 72 apartments remains unknown. The Ukrainian army estimated that the missile that hit the block was fired from Russia’s Kursk region.

In his opinion, the missile hit the block “due to the fact that there is a thermal power plant on the other side of the river, which may mean that (the Russians) tried to hit it, but the missile flew past and hit the residential buildings.”

On Sunday around 11.30, rescuers managed to save a 27-year-old woman. “She stayed under the rubble for about 20 hours, as a result of which she suffered severe hypothermia. The body temperature at the time of hospitalization was 31 degrees. The woman was taken to the intensive care unit, doctors are fighting for her life,” said the hospital doctor in an interview with the Suspilne TV portal.
