The Ukrainian army captured two North Korean soldiers. They fought in the Russian Kursk Oblast, which is partially controlled by Ukraine. The capture of enemy soldiers was announced on Saturday by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Our soldiers captured North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region. These are two soldiers who, although wounded, survived and were brought to Kiev and are talking to SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) investigators,” he reported on social networks.
“It was not an easy task: usually Russians and other North Korean soldiers finish off their wounded and do everything to prevent evidence of the participation of another country, North Korea, in the war against Ukraine,” he emphasized. Zelensky.
“The world must know the truth”
“I am grateful to the soldiers (…) of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine and the paratroopers who captured these two people,” the president added Ukraine. He noted that “like all prisoners of war, these two North Korean soldiers received necessary medical attention.”
“I ordered SBU officers to give journalists access to these prisoners. The world must know the truth about what is happening,” Zelensky wrote.
