As reported by Nexta TV, the office of the President of Ukraine has prepared a video for this occasion, which is a tribute to all those who, in the face of Russian aggression, work every day – in various ways – for the independence of their homeland.

“Our enemy will know what Ukrainian-style retaliation is”
– Today we celebrate the 33rd Independence Day of Ukraine. And what the enemy brought to our land, has now returned to his home. Whoever wanted to turn our land into a buffer zone should think about whether his country will not become a buffer federation. This is how independence responds – Zelensky said in his address to the nation.
– Our enemy will know what Ukrainian-style retaliation is. A dignified, symmetrical, long-range retaliation. He will know that any place in the Russian Federation that is a source of threat to the life of our state and our people will sooner or later receive a Ukrainian response – declared the president, referring to the Ukrainian military operation in Kursk region in Russia.
The president thanked all those who help the Ukrainian army and state, as well as all those who work every day for independence. He said he was grateful to Ukraine and Ukrainians for 913 days of war and “proving that independence is everyone's business and has many dimensions.”
Independence of Ukraine
On August 24, 1991, the Verkhovna Rada of the then Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic adopted the Act of Independence, which was subsequently approved by referendum on December 1, 1991. Poland was the first country in the world to recognize Ukraine's independence. Since February 24, 2022, Ukraine has been repelling a Russian invasion aimed at destroying the independent Ukrainian state.
On Friday, the day before Independence Day, Zelensky held a telephone conversation with the US President Joe Biden. – On behalf of the Ukrainian people, I express my gratitude to you personally, your administration, the Congress and the entire American people for the support you have given. United States provided to our country from the first days of the war. This support helps us survive and preserve our statehood, Zelensky said, addressing the US leader.
