Alexey Reznikov, Ukraine’s defense minister, announced that, thanks to the cooperation of partners, his country received an improved variant of the M109 self-propelled howitzer, as well as Harpoon anti-ship missiles and more than 100 drones. “This is not an ordinary courtesy. It is a clear sign that Ukraine is not alone,” he wrote, thanking the defense ministers of the partner countries.

“Ukraine has already received the M109 self-propelled howitzers in one of the modified variants. This is a very high quality equipment. Its delivery was the result of cooperation between several countries” – wrote Reznikov in social media.

The minister recalled that three other types of 155 mm artillery are already working at the front: M777 and FH70 howitzers and CAESAR self-propelled howitzers. “It was simply impossible to imagine in March. But today it is a reality that has materialized thanks to the excellent teamwork led by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky,” he wrote.

Reznikov also announced that the defense of the Ukrainian coast will be reinforced with Harpoon anti-ship missiles, which will be used by trained Ukrainian teams. “I am convinced that the military brotherhood of the Harpoon and our Neptune will help us liberate our Black Sea and make it safe again, as well as protect Odessa reliably,” he added.

The minister stressed that the strategic decision to switch to heavy weapons used by NATO had a specific dimension. “The cooperation of partner countries that donate weapons and equipment to Ukraine is already unprecedented,” he assessed.

“This is not an ordinary courtesy. It is a clear sign that Ukraine is not alone,” he wrote, thanking the defense ministers of the partner countries.

Reznikov also emphasized the heroism of Ukrainian soldiers fighting at the front. “We have seen examples where modern weapons and equipment made no difference if people did not want to fight for their country. Instead, the Ukrainian army showed mass heroism combined with great professionalism, and the entire Ukrainian people showed remarkable resilience,” he noted.
