Appearing on Ukrainian television, the deputy defense minister announced that there was a “panic” in the Russian army and that her forces were being redeployed to the south and east of Ukraine from other directions. – They’re already redeploying entire sub-units, bringing in the strongest ones. Assault troops are being deployed both to the south and to the east, Malar said. She added that the enemy army suffers heavy losses, including in the Lymansko-Kupian direction, i.e. in the east of Ukraine, at the junction of the Kharkiv and Luhansk oblasts.

Deputy Minister of Defense about the main directions of attack

The main direction of enemy attacks is the east of Ukraine, while Ukrainian forces are counterattacking in the south (in the Zaporizhzhya region and in the west of the Donetsk region). – Their main direction of attack is east. The enemy is concentrating maximum efforts there to break our defenses. In the south, we are attacking in several directions – the Russians are defending there, Malar pointed out. The Russians are bringing additional forces and equipment to the east. – The key task of our troops in the east is to reduce the enemy’s offensive potential as much as possible – she noted. – If from the news it seems that there is no progress, it does not mean that the front has stopped. It’s hot and very active, Malar said.

The occupation of the entire Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts remains the goal of the Russians, which is why, as Malar explained, they will not give up trying to completely control Bakhmut. – They can’t do that today. Now the intensity of the fighting is lower (there), they are obviously looking for new ways of operating, the deputy minister stated.
