During the night, Russia attacked Ukraine with 111 Shahed drones, the Ukrainian Air Force announced on Wednesday morning. In Kiev, falling fragments of downed drones caused fires in several districts.
The Ukrainian Air Force said in a Telegram post that the defense shot down 63 enemy drones out of 111 that attacked Ukraine on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. UAVs were shot down over several oblasts, including Poltava, Sumy, Kiev, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Khmelnytsky.
Attack on Kyiv
On Wednesday after At 6.30 Ukrainian time (5.30 in Poland), the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, announced another drone attack. He appealed to residents to stay in safe places.
Klitschko wrote on Telegram that “Ukrainian air defense is repelling drone attacks, but falling debris caused fires in several districts.”
In the Pechersk district (in the center of Kiev), the upper two floors of a residential building were partially destroyed. In another building, as a result of falling debris, a fire broke out on the roof and in one of the apartments.
According to city authorities, at least six people were injured.
In the Svyatoshino district, windows in one of the residential buildings were broken, a fire broke out in a non-residential room, and cars, garages and railway tracks were damaged.
