Ukraine. General Chief General Wiesław Kukuła at the Forum of Defense Heads in Paris. “If we play it well, we get what we expect”

Today we are focusing on discussing potential scenarios, which may be associated with the suspension of weapons or the conclusion of peace, giving a guarantee of security of Ukraine – said General, General Wiesław Kukuła, who represented Poland at the Paris Defense and Security Forum. – We are also discussing how to strengthen NATO's eastern flank to actually make this room permanent – he noted.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Wiesław Kukuła, took part on Tuesday in the Paris Defense and Security Forum together with the heads of defense of 33 other countries. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss “future activities supporting the long -term security of Ukraine.”

The forum was organized on the initiative of the president France Emmanuel Macron. At the beginning of the meeting, its participants were also met by France Minister Sebastien Lecorn.

General Kukuła: In the discussion, potential scenarios related to weapon suspension

– Today we are focusing on discussing potential scenarios that may be associated with the suspension of weapons or the conclusion of a room, giving a security guarantee Ukrainebut we must see it as a wider process, because in the background it is generally ensuring the durability of the room – said General Kukuła in an interview with TVN24.

– We are also discussing how to strengthen the eastern flank (NATO– ed.) To really make this room permanent – he noted.

He was also asked how safety guarantees for Ukraine could look like in practice and what the role of Poland could be.

– Many security channels are needed to operate this type of operation. You need information and logistics power, but above all to ensure the rotation of strength, providing them with a wide range of materials of various types. And this is the task of the so -called supporting state – he said. He added that the geographical location of Poland “means that we will be this country.”

– We must also remember that a very important element of ensuring peace is a process related to the transformation of the Ukrainian armed forces. And here we have a lot to say as Poland and a lot of training, this transformation is actually carried out in Poland – he noted.

To the remark that such a process will probably require a lot of effort and time, the general replied that “it is always a matter of how we react”. – We can react to something with fear or displacement, and we can react with mobilization and focus on effect. If we play it well, we will get what we expect – he assessed. He pointed out that it was a “lasting room”. “And a durable room requires demonstration of strength, demonstration of unity,” he added.

Security of Ukraine. Talks about what after the war

“The purpose of the meeting of defense heads of 34 countries was to discuss future activities supporting the long -term security of Ukraine. Issues related to possible support scenarios were raised after the war – in the air, sea, land, cyber and cognitive domain and cognitive domain,” reads SG.

According to the statement, the defense heads discussed the potential strengthening of NATO eastern flank countries, including Poland, in order to “increase the ability to deter and ensure lasting peace.” “A lot of attention was also devoted to the further support of the transformation of the armed forces of Ukraine, in this training of troops,” we read.

As a side note, General Kukuła also met with its counterparts from other countries of the region: Finland, Sweden, Norway and Turkey.
