The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been going on for 475 days. Within a week, the Ukrainian armed forces liberated seven towns from Russian occupation and took control of 90 square kilometers of territory, Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malar said. > On the night of Monday to Tuesday, a “large-scale air alert” was announced, the Ukrainian Pravda portal reported. The anti-aircraft alert was announced after 1.30 am local time in the southern regions of Ukraine. At 2.46 an alarm was announced in Kiev, then in the rest of Ukraine, except for the western regions. During an air-raid alert, it is recommended to evacuate to air-raid shelters, informs Ukrainian Pravda.

> Patriot air defense systems have become the main protagonist of Ukraine’s defense against Russian attack. Ukraine is currently repelling most of the threats from the air against Kiev, notes the Wall Street Journal. The manufacturer plans to deliver five more batteries to Ukraine by the end of 2024, the American newspaper adds.

> Near the occupied village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhia region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked a detachment of Russian tanks. At least one vehicle was destroyed, the portal mil.in.ua reported.

> Due to the increased activity of the Ukrainian underground on the occupied peninsula, the Russian occupiers are intensifying the “hunt” for partisans, the website of the Center for National Opposition, run by the Ukrainian army, reported.

> Defense Minister Russia Sergei Shoigu increased his public activity – notes the British Ministry of Defense in the latest intelligence report. According to experts, Shoigu is trying to improve his image in this way and present himself as a person in control of strategic issues at a time when Ukraine is stepping up its offensive.

> The declaration from the 2008 NATO summit in Bucharest on Ukraine’s future membership in the Alliance has not changed, nor has our support for the open door policy, said National Security Council spokesman John Kirby. He also announced that the US would soon announce another arms package for Ukraine.

> Ukrainian troops are in action counter-offensive, as a result of which they managed to liberate several towns. For now, however, it is too early to talk about a breakthrough in the ongoing counter-offensive, the American Institute for War Studies (ISW) estimates in the latest report. Russian sources are trying to downplay Ukrainian successes so as not to admit that the line of defense has been breached.
