The President of Ukraine discussed the preparations for the coming winter from the point of view of energy policy. In his opinion, in the current situation caused by Russia’s aggression, the coming heating season will be the most difficult of all the years of independence.
Ukraine does not intend to sell gas and coal abroad in the coming time. All domestic production is to be directed to meet internal needs.
At the same time, as reported by Volodymyr Zelensky, thanks to the generation capacity available in Ukraine, everything will be done to increase the possibility of exporting electricity, which will increase not only foreign exchange revenues, but thanks to Ukraine’s accession to the unified energy network of Europe, it will stabilize the energy situation in neighboring countries, including thus making them independent of Russian energy sources.
