Russians carried out a massive attack on Ukrainian territory on Monday. Ukrainian Air Force Commander General Mykola Oleshchuk said that the occupiers fired 127 missiles and 109 attack drones at Ukraine on Monday, of which 102 missiles and 99 drones were shot down. He called it “the largest air strike.” Volodymyr Zelensky said that Vladimir Putin is a “sick creature” but “does what the world allows him to.”

On Monday morning Ukraine was attacked by Russian strategic aircraft and drones. An air alert was declared throughout the country, and authorities appealed to residents to take shelter. “Russian occupiers launched a massive, combined attack on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, including the country's fuel and energy sectors, using various types of missiles fired from the air, land, and sea,” the statement reads.

Three Kh-47M2 Kindzhal hypersonic missiles, six Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, 77 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 28 Kalibr cruise missiles, three Kh-22 cruise missiles, 10 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided missiles, 109 Shahed-131/136 unmanned attack aircraft were used.

All available weapons and equipment were used to repel the air attack: aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and electronic warfare units. “A total of 201 air targets were shot down in the air combat – 102 missiles and 99 attacking combat drones,” Oleshchuk emphasized.

Zelensky: Putin is sick, but he does what the world allows

“It was one of the largest attacks, (…). Over a hundred missiles of various types and about a hundred Shahed drones. And like most previous Russian attacks, equally vile and aimed at critical civilian infrastructure,” the president wrote earlier on Telegram Volodymyr Zelensky.

He reported that most regions of his country have been attacked and there are fatalities and dozens of people injured. “There is a lot of damage in the energy sector. But wherever there are power outages, repair work is already underway. Repair teams will work around the clock. We will restore electricity,” he assured.

Zelensky said Monday's attack confirmed that Putin is a “sick being”. “Putin will not betray himself: he is a sick being, which has been clear to everyone for a long time. However, it is also clear that he can only do what the world allows him to do. Weakness, insufficient decisions, in response, fuel terror. And every leader, every partner of ours knows what decisive decisions are needed to end this war and end it justly,” he said.
