During the attack near occupied Crimea on Friday morning, we hit two fast landing ships. Russia – a representative of the Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) confirmed in an interview with the Kyiv Independent website.
HUR published footage of the attack, showing camera footage of what appears to be a kamikaze maritime drone strike against a Russian ship.
The ships carried crew and armored vehicles, it was explained. The damaged units were a ship of the older Rekin design and a Serna-class ship. Units of this model were previously used, among others, to transport equipment and soldiers to the occupied Snake Island.
“The small Serna-class landing ship is characterized by high speed, can carry up to 45 tons of cargo and 92 armed soldiers,” it was written on HUR’s Telegram profile.
Ukrainska Pravda: both ships went to the bottom
The Ukrainska Pravda website reported that ships damaged in occupied Crimea will not be able to return to service. “The results of the reconnaissance carried out on November 10 showed that the landing ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet were destroyed,” it was written.
As a result of the attack, both Russian ships went to the bottom: Shark – immediately, and Serna unsuccessfully fought for survival, but also sank – reported Ukrainska Pravda.
On Wednesday, Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Oleksiy Danilov, admitted that Ukraine “has made enormous progress in destroying Russian resources in occupied Crimea.”
