“The participation of Andrzej Duda in the summit of the Crimean Platform and the high evaluation of this event are confirmation of support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Twitter. As he added, “it is necessary to counteract the threats posed by Russia together”.
President Zelensky also announced that he had offered Poland cooperation in the sphere of energy security and infrastructure. The announcement on the president’s website stated that the Ukrainian leader thanked Andrzej Duda for participating in Monday’s summit and for his solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Talks about the situation in Donbas, Zapad-2021 and Nord Stream 2 maneuvers
The head of the Ukrainian state informed the Polish leader about the security situation in Donbas in the east of the country, where a conflict with Russia-backed separatists has continued since 2014. He proposed joint steps to counteract aggressive actions by Russia, in particular in the information sphere.
The leaders agreed that the Russian-Belarusian Zapad-2021 maneuvers are a source of tension and worsen the security situation in the region, the Ukrainian president’s office reported. The “difficult situation” at the borders with Belarus, the events in Afghanistan and bilateral relations were also discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the coordination of positions when it comes to counteracting the Nord Stream 2 project – emphasized Zelensky’s office. They talked about the prospects for cooperation in the field of energy, including joint projects on the diversification of energy supplies.
Duda met with the presidents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia
Jakub Kumoch stressed that in President Duda’s speech “there were no understatements” and it was clear that Poland would never recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea, but would instead support the territorial integrity of Ukraine. – Ukraine can count entirely on Poland in terms of Russian aggression – he stressed.
Kumoch reported that immediately after the summit, Duda met with the presidents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. He stressed that three of the four countries “are affected by this crisis, by a hybrid action by the regime (Belarusian leader Alyaksandr) of Lukashenka, sending to the border, forcing to cross the border, groups of people from another part of the world, whom he deliberately and cynically brings to Minsk.”
– There is complete unanimity among four countries: it is not a humanitarian crisis, it is a de facto hybrid aggression, and people are victims, used cynically by the regime in a way that defies their dignity – stressed the presidential minister.
