Russia It has already gathered over 100,000 soldiers at the Ukrainian border. The West has announced that in the event of a Russian invasion of Ukraine, it will respond with severe sanctions. IN Geneva, Kiev and Wisła there are diplomatic talks taking place around this conflict.

For the presidents’ conversation – Andrzej Duda and Volodymyr Zelensky – the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was asked in “Fakty po Faktach” Marcin Przydacz. – Those were long, good, honest conversations in a trusted, narrow circle. President Zelenskiy came with his two closest associates, he replied.

– The purpose of the meeting was to exchange information on an ongoing basis. Ukraine is a front-line state, in that it has a direct border with Russia, it sees it much better than we do. In other respects, when it comes to European or NATO policy, we have more knowledge here. The idea was to inform each other, but also to assure each other about further cooperation and possible diplomatic and political support, such as will be necessary in the future – he described.

What can such support look like? – We still hope that this attack will not happen in the end. This is the goal of the political and diplomatic activities of Polish diplomacy, including the president and the prime minister – he replied.

How can Poland help Ukraine? Can it do it militarily? – First of all, we focus on diplomatic and political activities. A lot of the state helps Ukraine also with the supply of equipment, there were countries that said directly what and in what quantity they deliver, for example Great Britain. The United States, in turn, provides the amounts for which they buy the equipment they allocate to Ukraine, but there are many countries, also from our region, that help Ukraine, but do not necessarily want to and consider it productive to speak about it in public – said Przydacz.

Asked whether the role of Poland is military aid, the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs repeated: – Diplomatically, many countries from this region help, not necessarily providing details.
