Friday is the hundredth day of the war in Ukraine. British intelligence indicated that the key to the failure of Russian aggression was its first day, “strong Ukrainian resistance and an unsuccessful attempt to secure the Hostoml airport”.
The British Ministry of Defense released a daily update of intelligence on the war in Ukraine on Friday. “Today marks the hundredth day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Russian forces failed to achieve their initial goals, which was to seize Kiev and Ukrainian centers of power. Strong Ukrainian resistance and an unsuccessful attempt to secure the Hostoml airport in the first 24 hours led to the repulsion of Russian offensive actions” – we read in the announcement.
According to British intelligence, “after the failure of the initial plan, as a result of erroneous planning assumptions and poor tactical implementation, Russia adjusted its operational plan to focus on the Donbas.”
In Donbas, the analysis reads, “Russia is currently achieving tactical success”. “Russian forces have generated and maintained an impetus and now appear to have the initiative over Ukrainian resistance. Russia controls more than 90 percent of the Luhansk Oblast and is likely to complete its takeover of it in the next two weeks. Russia has achieved these latter tactical successes at significant resource costs and through concentration force and fire on one element of the entire campaign. Russia was not able to maneuver or move on other fronts or axes, all of which went on the defensive “- reports the interview.
Compared to Russia’s original plan, the press release said, “none of the strategic goals has been achieved.” “For Russia to achieve any success, it will require further enormous expenditure of forces and equipment and will probably take a long time to come,” it was indicated.
